Northern Exposure
Our patented Northern Exposure Insulation System creates a more energy-efficient and easy-to-maintain hot tub.
Northern Exposure® Insulation System
Northern Exposure® is a unique thermal barrier technology that recycles the free heat energy for more efficient heating.
Northern Exposure® is a unique thermal barrier technology that recycles the free heat energy for more efficient heating. All four sides of the hot tub, plus the floor and cover are lined with reflective copper material to reflect radiant heat energy generated from the pumps back into the hot tub. Heat is absorbed back into the plumbing, helping raise and maintain water temperature.
Finally, the entire exterior of the hot tub is wrapped in 3M Thinsulate™ Insulation, the same incredible material utilized in winter clothing. This three layer patent pending system ensures energy created by the hot tub stays in the hot tub.
Copper IR Reflector
Insulating and covering your hot tub is extremely important. Our Northern Exposure Insulation System features a copper layer that reflects radiant heat back into the hot tub from the heater and pumps for a more energy-efficient spa
BlueMAAX®
The Northern Exposure® Insulation System features our eco-friendly BlueMAAX® insulation. Made from recycled natural fiber, it is approved by the U.S. Green Building Council. The insulation contains no chemical irritants, is treated with a borate based solution to prevent mold/mildew growth, pest infestation, and acts as a fire retardant.
3M Thinsulate™
The insulation system in your new Vita Spa hot tub is warrantied to maintain the same insulation value it had at the time it was manufactured. As the exterior layer of Northern Exposure, 3M Thinsulate™ acts as a barrier between your spa and the outside elements, maintaining optimal temperature in your spa.
BlueMAAX®
BlueMAAX® is eco-friendly and made from recycled natural fiber. It contains no chemical irritants, is treated with a borate-based solution to prevent mold/mildew growth and pest infestation, and acts as a fire retardant.
BlueMAAX® replaces the urethane foam in “foam-filled” hot tubs. These panels also allow for easy access and can be taken out and put back together to factory specifications right in your own home. “Foam-filled” hot tubs require the foam to be chipped out to access vital parts of your spa and need to be sent back to the factory to safely refill these holes.
